Lawyers claims Texans RB D’Onta Foreman passed marijuana test

D'Onta Foreman

It was just last weekend that Houston Texans rookie running back D’Onta Foreman was arrested on drug and gun charges in Austin, Texas. Shortly after said arrest, Foreman’s lawyer claimed that his client was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

“There’s never been a problem, from middle school, high school, college, nothing, not one blemish,” Freeman’s lawyer, Chip Lewis, said in an interview. “It literally is the old expression, ‘in the wrong place at the wrong time,’ and he already severely regrets where he was, when he was. But, there’s a far cry difference between having bad judgment about who you’re hanging out with and where you are, and committing a crime.”

Now, almost a week removed from the incident, the very same lawyer is alleging that Foreman tested negative for marijuana.

“The lab has returned D’Onta’s results,” Lewis said, via the Houston Chronicle. “He is crystal clean, everything negative for any illicit drugs, marijuana, absolutely nothing.”

This in no way clears him of possession charges when it comes to marijuana and the guns. Legally speaking, Foreman remains in hot water.

A third-round pick out of Texas in the 2017 NFL Draft, Foreman is expected to play a huge role in the Texans’ offense this upcoming season. Unfortunately, there’s now a chance that he will be suspended by the NFL at some point.

Regardless of his attorney going to bat for him, Foreman is in trouble with a league that operates under a different set of rules than the American justice system.
