Here’s a weird Kristaps Porzingis commercial from Latvia

Kristaps Porzingis is a name to watch as NBA trades go down

New York Knicks big man Kristaps Porzingis is well on his way to becoming an international superstar. To some, he’s a unicorn. To others, he’s the young face of an NBA that’s changed the role of big men in recent seasons.

But to his native Latvia, Porzingis is already a star. He plays in New York City. He’s among the best young players in the NBA.

So it shouldn’t be a surprise that Porzingis has picked up a few endorsement gigs along the way. The surprise here is this one specific Visa commercial, which apparently combines the hit 80s song Oh Yeah (from Yell0) with some real-life erotica.

That’s as awesome as it is disturbing.

To put this into context, the song was made popular by the iconic movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Still, wouldn’t it have made more sense if it were played during a car commercial?

Anyway, this strangely erotic commercial might be the best thing about the Knicks right now. The positive news here is that Porzingis himself will still likely be a member of the team when the 2017-18 season comes calling after former president Phil Jackson put him on the trade block.

Then again, following this absurd commercial, New York might want to think twice about handing the keys to the kingdom to Porzingis. We all saw how that turned out for Ferris.
