Chris Clemons found guilty of assault, lands jail time, fine, anger management

Former NFL safety Chris Clemons has been found guilty of misdemeanor assault causing intentional injury.

He was accused of punching a woman in the face outside a nightclub in Scottsdale, Ariz. in May of 2016 after the woman got into it with one of his female companions.

The sentence includes 10 days in jail, five of which was suspended, per TMZ. Clemons will also have to pay $30,000 in restitution, is being ordered to take anger management courses and will be on probation for a year.

Clemons last played for the Arizona Cardinals last season but was released before the start of the regular season. Before that, he played seven years in the NFL with the Cardinals and Miami Dolphins, appearing in 80 games and starting 48. He finished his NFL career with 208 combined tackles and four interceptions.
