Report: ‘Zero truth’ to idea Cavs players are telling Jimmy Butler to stay away

Jimmy Butler

Things seem to be completely up in the air in Cleveland less than two weeks after the Cavaliers lost the NBA Finals for the second time in three years.

The week started with Cleveland moving on from general manager David Griffin. It continued with reports that the team is interested in Jimmy Butler and Paul George.

This changed to an extent with indications coming up that Butler himself was not interested in joining the Cavaliers. Interestingly enough, that came prior to reports surfacing suggesting Cavaliers players themselves have told Butler to stay away from the situation (more on that here).

Now, at least one prominent NBA insider is indicating no one on the Cavaliers has suggested Butler steer clear of an increasingly volatile situation.

It’s definitely the silly time of the NBA offseason with rumors coming up left and right. This will only continue through the draft on Thursday and leading up to the start of free agency next month.

Though, Butler himself has long been bandied about as trade bait in Chicago. Whether that continues to remain the case is not yet known.
