Report: Thunder targeting Rudy Gay after acquiring Paul George

The Oklahoma City Thunder sent shockwaves throughout the NBA on Friday night, acquiring Paul George from the Indiana Pacers in what seems to be a lopsided trade.

It’s now become readily apparent that Oklahoma City is once again looking to make a play in the Western Conference one year after losing Kevin Durant to the Golden State Warriors in free agency.

Now comes this report suggesting that the Thunder themselves are not done.

According to the venerable Royce Young of ESPN, Oklahoma City is in the mix for former All-Star forward Rudy Gay.

As Young notes, Gay would play the four next to Paul George in what could be a revamped new Thunder lineup. The 30-year-old forward averaged 18.3 points and 6.3 rebounds before suffering an Achilles injury for the Sacramento Kings last season.
