There have been conflicting rumors about how the Lakers see Ball. One report suggested the team was not at all convinced he’s a star player (more on that here). However, not long afterwards, that report was shot down as “just noise.”
Given the fluidity at the top of the draft — the Boston Celtics are reportedly not sold on Markelle Fultz — it’s hard to know exactly what will go down on June 22.
What we know for sure now is that the Lakers will have a very good idea about how Ball trains, which could make a big difference come draft day.
