Veteran free agent running back DeAngelo Williams isn’t getting any action right now in his chosen profession, so he’s seeking employment elsewhere.
He’s seeking it in the ring as a pro wrestler for Impact Wrestling, which used to be known as TNT.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports Williams will compete in a tag team match with Moose (aka Quinn Ojinnaka, former NFL offensive lineman) in a tag team match against Chris Adonis and Eli Drake.
This won’t be Williams’ first experience in the ring. He and Gary Barnidge, free agent tight end formerly with the Cleveland Browns, were involved in some shenanigans with Impact Wrestling in Orlando this past April.

The 11-year NFL veteran has amassed 8,096 yards and 61 touchdowns on the ground over the course of his career. However, at his age and considering he averaged just 3.5 yards per carry last year for the Pittsburgh Steelers it wouldn’t be surprising if Williams doesn’t get another chance in the NFL.
A transition into wrestling makes perfect sense. Many former NFL players have done it, and Williams has a great personality for it. And now he can wear his hair any color he likes without being fined by the NFL commissioner.
We can’t wait to see what he does with this opportunity.
