Draymond Green: You could tell LeBron James ‘was exhausted’

LeBron James

The Cleveland Cavaliers, and more specifically LeBron James, left everything on the court Wednesday night in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. Unfortunately, they ended up falling short when it mattered most, blowing a six-point lead in the game’s final three minutes and losing by five points, 118-113. After the game, Draymond Green played the role of Captain Obvious, saying James was obviously exhausted.

James ended up playing 46 of the 48-minute contest. He scored 39 points, hauled in 11 rebounds, dished nine assists while logging one steal and one block to boot. Every time James did head to the bench for a minor breather, the Warriors quickly took advantage. He absolutely had to stay on the floor for the Cavs to win. And even then, they fell short.

Here’s pretty much all you need to know. In Cleveland’s five-point loss, James was the only Cavaliers starter with a positive plus/minus.

Anyone who played 46 minutes of such a fast-paced game would be flat on their back. It’s a minor miracle James didn’t need a stretcher to get to the locker room.

The series is all but over now. Cleveland is in an 0-3 hole, and they haven’t been able to keep the Warriors from scoring like crazy once in this series. It’s going to be one of those “go back to the drawing board” offseasons, because the Cavs can’t win a title against the Warriors the way they’re currently constructed.

Or, they could just go to Whataburger for some extra scoring.
