Tom Brady doesn’t agree he’s the best QB of all time

Tom Brady is among the best NFL players over the age of 30

Tom Brady isn’t ready to stamp the GOAT label on himself at this time, and based on comments he made on this topic he likely never will.

In an interview with ESPN’s Ian O’Connor, Brady was asked if he thought he’s moved past Joe Montana as the greatest quarterback of all time.

“I don’t agree with that and I’ll tell you why,” Brady said. “I know myself as a player. I’m really a product of what I’ve been around, who I was coached by, what I played against, in the era I played in. I really believe if a lot of people were in my shoes they could accomplish the same kinds of things. So I’ve been very fortunate.”

This is just one more example of Brady being a disciple of Bill Belichick, who preaches the team, the team, the team.

Brady has never been a guy to pat himself on the back, regardless of his achievements on a personal level. For him, winning as a team has always been the top priority, so it’s not surprising whatsoever that he’d rather point to his support than say he’s better than another legendary quarterback like Montana.

But for the sake of this argument, we’ll go ahead and speak up for Brady and say that, yes, he’s absolutely passed Montana on the all-time greats list. And based on the way New England has revamped its roster heading into 2017, there’s a good chance he’ll add another Super Bowl ring to his collection. A collection that is already the most impressive in NFL history for any quarterback, with five championships to his name.
