It has been reported for some time now, but North Carolina confirmed our suspicions on Friday. The program announced that former LSU quarterback Brandon Harris has been given a scholarship and will join the Tar Heel football team this summer.

At this point, it has to be a foregone conclusion that Harris will replace Chicago Bears rookie No. 2 overall pick Mitch Trubisky under center for North Carolina this fall. Harris is a graduate student, meaning that he will not have to sit out a year due to the transfer.

Harris, a four-star recruit out of Bossier City in Louisiana back in 2014, started all 12 games for LSU back in 2015. That season saw him put up nearly 2,400 total yards with 17 touchdowns compared to six interceptions. He was replaced under center prior to Week 3 this past season and never regained his starting job.
