The Houston Texans have a new quarterback in Clemson signal caller Deshaun Watson. Two stars — J.J. Watt and Deandre Hopkins — took to Twitter to welcome him.
The defensive lineman was the first to reach out.
Welcome to Houston @DeshaunWatson4

Shortly thereafter, Hopkins, a man who should soon be well acquainted with Watson, made his excitement known.

That’s certainly nice for the incoming rookie to see. The last thing anyone would want is a tepid reaction from the team’s best players.
Houston was in position to draft Watson following a trade with the Cleveland Browns, which you can read about here.
The Texans made the playoffs in both 2015 and 2016, despite quarterback play that was mediocre at its best moments. Watson is certainly going to a great situation, but unlike most teams selecting that high, Houston has legitimately high Super Bowl aspirations.
