Report: Long-time Lakers assistant Glenn Carraro resigns

Glenn Carraro

Los Angeles Lakers’ longtime assistant GM Glenn Carraro has resigned, reports The Vertical’s Adrian Wonarowski. Carraro, a cap guru among other things, had been with the Lakers since 2000.

This is yet another front office shift in what has been a period of turnover for the Lakers. Carraro, who worked alongside former general manager Mitch Kupchak, was somewhat emblematic of the old regime. With Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka at the helm, it was probably only a matter of time before Carraro left.

However, he was also someone who could have helped the new guys learn the ropes. Perhaps the biggest concern of Lakers fans regarding Johnson has been his lack of knowledge regarding the salary cap. No doubt, Carraro could have helped in that regard. It is not yet known who will be replacing Carraro.
