NBA Draft prospect Trevon Bluiett arrested on drug charges

Trevon Bluiett

NBA Draft prospect Trevon Bluiett is in trouble with the law. The former Xavier star was arrested in his home state of Indiana for possession of illegal drugs.

“Xavier University’s Trevon Bluiett was charged Monday afternoon for possession of marijuana, hash oil or hashish in his home state of Indiana, according to Hamilton County Jail records in Indiana,” a report from the Fox 19 digital staff said. “Bluiett was arrested in Carmel, Indiana just before 3:30 p.m., according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.”

Bluiett was the Musketeers best player during their run to the Elite 8. Throughout his junior season, he led Xavier, averaging 18.5 points per game. He averaged better than 21 a contest during Xavier’s four NCAA Tournament games.

It remains to be seen if this arrest will have a negative impact on Bluiett’s draft stock. While it certainly won’t help, it’s unlikely to be a huge detriment by June.

With that said, it’s worth noting that while Bluiett has entered the draft, he’s yet to hire an agent. With that, Bluiett maintains the option of returning to college for his senior season.
