In what felt like a satirical black comedy moment, Mike Tyson jabbed out an unlikely and uncomfortable request to New Jersey Governor Chris Christie while on stage at the NJ Reentry Corporation’s Prisoner conference at St. Peter’s University in Jersey City.

“Man, governor I wish you could talk to Donald Trump, cause I haven’t talked to him in many years,” Tyson said about a pardon, via Mediate.com. “Tell him he said he was going to give me my pardon so I am waiting for my pardon. He said it out of his mouth, so I’m waiting.”

Full of smiles, Christie told Tyson that he will “put it on my list for the next phone calls, Mike.”

As to where Tyson’s request definitely left an impression on the audience, Governor Christie was pretty uncomfortable about the entire exchanged. That’s evident by his awkward smile at the end of the exchange.

In the aftermath of the above video a spokeswoman for Tyson said, “when I was on the phone with Mike, he said he meant it in a joking way back when I partnered with Trump in the eighties during his boxing time.”
