LeSean McCoy takes exception to Kiko Alonso Instagram post

LeSean McCoy Kiko Alonso

Miami Dolphins linebacker Kiko Alonso posted a picture of himself tackling LeSean McCoy on Instagram, and Shady didn’t take it very well.

Here’s a screenshot of the photo, with McCoy’s comments in which he attacks Alonso’s new contract with the Dolphins and calls him a bum.

“boy ya dad wish u was as good as me… n ya new contract garbage lol my 2011 money … take me off ya page u BUM,” McCoy wrote in the comments section of this Instagram post.

These two players have a strange history in that they were traded for one another in Chip Kelly’s final year with the Philadelphia Eagles. Alonso never panned out due to injuries in Philadelphia but had a very nice season last year for the Miami Dolphins — good enough to land a four-year contract worth up to $28.9 million, with $18.5 million guaranteed.

Now, that’s not the kind of cash McCoy landed in his latest deal with the Buffalo Bills, but it’s not chump change, either.

McCoy needs to lighten up. He’s making bank, and he’s one of the best running backs in the NFL — something he’s recently made abundantly clear. But it’s clear he still has a huge chip on his shoulder and seems to be dealing with some insecurity issues, based on his response to being left out of a recent Pro Football Focus list.

Hopefully he can just chill out and realize he’s got it very good. There’s no need for name-calling on social media. Just take a deep breath and let his play on the field do the talking for him.
