The San Antonio Spurs will be shorthanded in Saturday’s game against the Golden State Warriors. MVP candidate Kawhi Leonard has entered the NBA concussion protocol and will not play.

This is certainly a game that’s lost some of the luster it had a few weeks ago. Golden State will be without its own MVP candidate, Kevin Durant, who’s expected to miss most (if not all) of the remainder of the regular season.
While some of the star power is now gone, it’s still a huge game.
Entering Friday’s action, the Spurs are two games behind the Warriors in the race for the best record in the Western Conference and NBA. Saturday will be the first of two remaining meetings between the teams, both in San Antonio. As the Spurs won the first game between the two, they need only a split to earn a tiebreaker.
