Report: Packers, Davon House have ‘mutual interest’ in reunion

Davon House

The Green Bay Packers and cornerback Davon House are reportedly interested in potentially reuniting after two years apart.

According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, “the Packers have contacted CB Davon House about a return to Green Bay, according to a source, and there is mutual interest.”

House spent his first four seasons in Green Bay, starting starting 14 games and appearing in 40. He then bolted for Jacksonville in free agency before the 2015 campaign, signing a four-year, $24.5 million deal with $10 million guaranteed.

After starting 16 games in his first season with the Jaguars, House only started four games last year before being released on Monday.

That the Packers are reaching out to House isn’t surprising whatsoever. In addition to the familiarity between the two parties, Green Bay is desperate to improve its secondary, which allowed more passing yards last year than all but one team.
