Patriots LB Shea McClellin not a fan of the NFL’s new no-leap rule

Reggie Bush, Shea McClellin

New England Patriots linebacker Shea McClellin, like the Seattle Seahawks, is not a fan of the NFL’s new no-leap rule on field-goal attempts.

He made this crystal clear on Tuesday after the vote.

On any other day, at any other time, this tweet could be brushed aside as a reaction to pretty much anything, including perhaps what McClellin had for breakfast.

But not on this day. Lest we forget, McClellin made a huge play for the Patriots this past season when he blocked a Justin Tucker field goal by leaping over the line of scrimmage (watch here). He did it in a tight game against the Baltimore Ravens in December — a game the Patriots ended up winning by one touchdown.

So it’s easy to understand why McClellin, like Michael Scott in the gif he featured, is not happy about the new rule which makes such a momentum-changing play illegal.
