Master P thinks the Pelicans should hire him

Hip-hop artist Master P attempted to make it in the NBA as a player back when he was one of the most recognizable figures in the music industry in the late 1990s.

Unfortunately for Percy Miller (aka Master P) he was cut by the then Charlotte Hornets and Toronto Raptors during the preseason in consecutive years.

Now well past his playing prime, Miller is apparently looking to make a return to the NBA. Though, this time as an assistant coach for the New Orleans Pelicans.

“I think they (the Pelicans) need me to be an assistant coach,” Miller said, via TMZ Sports. “I’m serious about coaching.”

Seen hanging around the celebrity basketball circuit (that’s a thing), Miller has no real coaching experience. And his experience as a player is limited to a couple handful of preseason basketball games.

It’s nice of him to offer his services, but we’re pretty sure Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry will give Master P a hard pass here.
