Devon Still and daughter Leah celebrate her two-year anniversary of cancer remission

Devon Still

Devon Still and his daughter Leah — not to mention their entire family — went through the ringer while she battled cancer. But thankfully those days are in the rear-view mirror. Two years behind them, as a matter of fact.

The defensive lineman who spent last year with the Houston Texans shared an old picture of himself and Leah when they were still dealing with hospital visits to celebrate the two-year anniversary of cancer remission on Saturday.

A post shared by Devon Still (@man_of_still91) on

“I want to wish a Happy 2nd Birthday to my daughter, Leah. Today marks 2 years in remission! From the moment we took this picture in the hospital, right before doctors walked in the room and said she had cancer, we had an extremely tough fight. But no matter how hard it got we never gave up. So today, we celebrate your strength and perseverance Leah! I love you more than you could ever possibly know.”

Still has yet to sign with another team in free agency this offseason.

Originally a second-round selection out of Penn State by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2012, he spent three seasons with them and spent time on the team’s practice squad during the 2014 season while Leah was fighting for her life. He was cut by the Bengals in 2015 and sat out the entire season, coming back last year with Houston and appearing in three games, registering three tackles.
