This is a massive hit to Toronto’s chances of climbing above the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference and their chances of winning in the playoffs. Lowry has been the best point guard in the East this season, averaging 21.7 points and 6.6 assists per 36 minutes, leading the league in minutes per game, shooting 41.7 percent from 3 and currently ranking fourth in Real Plus-Minus.
In Lowry’s stead, Cory Joseph will take the reigns as the Raptors’ starting point guard.
