Report: Seahawks to sign four-time Pro Bowler Devin Hester

The Seattle Seahawks have made what could be a rather big move in the lead up to the playoffs. According to Fox Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer, the team is signing veteran return man Devin Hester.

Hester, 34, was waived by the Baltimore Ravens during the regular season after coughing the ball up five times on special teams. A four-time Pro Bowl performer, this Miami (F) product holds the NFL record for the most combined kickoff and punt returns for touchdowns with 19.

It was just a couple short years ago that Hester was still considered one of the top return men in the game. If he’s somehow able to catch that fire once again, this could be a rather big boon for a Seahawks team that’s without Tyler Lockett after he broke both his tibia and fibula back in Week 16.

Hester previously had a workout with the New England Patriots, who decided to pass on his services.

Seattle hosts the Detroit Lions in the wild card round this upcoming Saturday night. Expect Hester to be back returning kicks for that game.
