Seahawks DE Damontre Moore arrested for DWI

The Seattle Seahawks are dealing with some rather major drama just a few days after clinching the NFC West with a win over the Los Angeles Rams.

According to The Seattle Times, reserve defensive end Damontre Moore was arrested Saturday in King County (Wash.) for allegedly driving while intoxicated. He was also cited for driving with a suspended license.

According to authorities in King County, Moore was booked at just before 7:00 a.m. local time and released late Saturday afternoon. Officials suspect that he was intoxicated on either drugs or alcohol.

“Moore was booked into King County Jail in Seattle shortly before 7 a.m., according to the jail registry,” the report read. “He was being held on $1,500 bail. It was not immediately clear whether police suspected Moore of using alcohol or drugs.”

Moore, a third-round pick of the New York Giants back in 2013, split time between the Giants and Miami Dolphins last season before being picked up off the street by Seattle earlier this year. He’s recorded a half sack and seven tackles in four games this season.

Moore has seen an uptick in action in recent weeks, showing himself more than capable of playing a solid role in Seattle’s defensive line rotation.

“We are aware of the situation and are still gathering information and will defer to his representation,” the Seahawks said in a statement regarding the arrest.

We’ll have updates as they become available. But it’s safe to say Moore’s status with the Seahawks is now in question. He’s also facing disciplinary action from the NFL.
