Report: LSU’s Kendell Beckwith tore ACL

Big news out of Baton Rouge today, as reports have surfaced that LSU star inside linebacker Kendall Beckwith, a senior and top NFL Draft prospect, tore his ACL.

Making things more surprising is that the injury occurred in a game against the Florida Gators — on November 19th.

While LSU had done a good job of keeping the official diagnosis quiet as of late, the fears of many LSU faithful were confirmed.

Beckwith, a 6-foot-3, 247-pound inside linebacker, was the heart and soul of the LSU front seven. While junior linebacker Donnie Alexander has performed admirably in his absence, this blow is still significant.

Beckwith was projected to be a potential first-round pick upon returning for his senior season, per draft guru Mel Kiper, after last season ended. This makes the NFL Combine all the more important, as he must clear the medical checks if he has any hopes of being drafted before the third round now.
