The Los Angeles Rams will not have their best player on the field when they attempt to upset the Seattle Seahawks Thursday night. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the team has placed defensive end Robert Quinn on injured reserve with a concussion.

Quinn, a two-time Pro Bowl performer, has sat out each of the past two games after suffering said concussion in a Week 12 loss to the New Orleans Saints.
Any time a player is forced out from football activities for over a month due to a concussion, worries about his long-term health should be taken into account. The Carolina Panthers are potentially dealing with the same issue regarding Luke Kuechly.
Though, at 4-9 on the season and with Jeff Fisher gone, the Rams are merely playing out the string here. It’s in this that rushing Quinn back makes little sense.
Quinn, who missed the final eight games last season after suffering a back injury, has recorded just nine sacks since the start of the 2015 campaign. In the three years prior to that, he combined to tally 40 sacks.
Let’s just hope the former All Pro can get healthy and return to form next season. When at the top of his game, he’s among the best defenders in the NFL.
