Marcell Dareus guarantees win over winless Browns

Sitting at 0-13, the watch is certainly on for the Cleveland Browns. Will they be the second NFL team to finish a season at 0-16? The Buffalo Bills are playing the Browns in Week 15. While defensive tackle Marcell Dareus wouldn’t predict an 0-16 finish for Cleveland, he did guarantee an 0-14 start.

Normally, late-season games between bad teams are fairly unpredictable. But it’s safe to say that the Browns’ game has a little more spice. Nobody wants to be the team to give Cleveland its first win. Even if said team is also in disarray (like the Bills), nobody on the roster will sleep on the Browns.

Still, should Dareus be so boastful? A good effort from Buffalo may be guaranteed, but that doesn’t mean a good performance is. The Bills, who once sat at 4-2, are now at 6-7 and clearly on the outside of playoff contention. Guaranteeing a Buffalo win over anyone is quite a reach.

Cleveland has three games remaining to try to earn a win. At a glance, Week 15 on the road against the Bills and Week 16 at home against the San Diego Chargers would present the best opportunities. Winning Week 17 on the road against the Pittsburgh Steelers (who may need the win) is not terribly likely.
