Matt Holliday is a free agent, but may be interested in going to a familiar place. According to Casey Stern of the MLB Network, Holliday has shown interest in returning to the Colorado Rockies.

In truth, going to the Rockies and Coors Field is a great idea for any hitter. This is especially true for a player nearing the end of his career, as Holliday is.
Holliday hit for decent power in 2016, slugging 20 home runs. He also slashed well below his career numbers, finishing the year at .246/.322/.461.
While playing in Colorado from 2004-08, Holliday was a star. He made three All-Star teams, finished second in Rookie of the Year voting in 2004, and second in MVP voting in 2007. Additionally, Holliday was a centerpiece of the Rockies’ 2007 team, which made the World Series for the first (and still only) time in franchise history.
With Colorado, Holliday slashed at .319/.386/.552, all totals are well above his career numbers. He also hit 128 home runs with the Rockies, only 28 fewer than he hit with the Cardinals, despite playing in 284 fewer games.
Following the 2008 season, Holliday was traded to the Oakland Athletics. In the same trade, Colorado acquired Carlos Gonzalez. After playing a part of 2009 in Oakland, Holliday was traded to St. Louis, where he played through the 2016 season.
