UFC: Ronda Rousey vs. Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 on Dec. 30

Ronda Rousey

On The Herd with Colin Cowherd on Fox Sports 1, Dana White announced that Ronda Rousey is returning on December 30th at UFC 207 to fight for the Bantamweight title against Amanda Nunes in the main event.

This will be Rousey’s first fight since Holly Holm’s shocking knockout at UFC 193 last November. Rousey had been taking time off because she had given her all to the sport and essentially founded the women’s side of the UFC.

The loss to Holm was a bit of a wake-up call for Rousey’s followers about her lack of striking technique and skill.

The fight with Nunes will be tough because of her proficiency with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. For Nunes, this is a fight that will be able to help her legitimize herself as the best in the Bantamweight division.

Rousey is strong in Judo as a former Olympic bronze medalist, but has gotten away from her roots to focus on her boxing lately. She is taking this fight as a path to redemption with a potential headliner against Cris Cyborg to follow.

These talented women will be able to headline this card effectively, and this will be another barn-burner.
