The NFL has issued its punishment on Miami Dolphins receiver Jarvis Landry for his crushing hit on Buffalo Bills safety Aaron Williams. Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network is reporting that Landry has been fined more than $24,000.

The hit certainly was viscous. As for whether the fine is too harsh, too lenient, or just right, you can judge for yourself.

Regardless of one’s opinion on Landry’s fine, it’s certainly not surprising. The NFL has spent the last several years trying to legislate these hits out of the game. If any action is taken in future seasons, it will likely be to make punishment for these hits more severe.
