Bengals TE Tyler Eifert reportedly suffers setback in practice

Tyler Eifert

Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert has missed the first four games of the season due to an ankle injury. It was expected that the Pro Bowler would make his season debut Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.

Unfortunately, that looks to be off the table right now.

There’s no indication what type of setback Eifert suffered, but this is most definitely not good news for a Bengals offense that relies on him a great deal in the passing game.

ESPN’s Katherine Terell previously reported that Eifert was seen limping in the locker room on Monday prior to heading out for practice.

Eifert, just recently returned to practice late last month for the first time since last season. If this is a serious setback, it could have a major impact on the Bengals’ passing game moving forward.

Eifert, 26, recorded 52 receptions for 615 yards and 13 touchdowns last season. He’s a main cog in the team’s passing game with A.J. Green.
