Stephen Curry plans to re-sign with the Warriors

Stephen Curry

All those NBA teams potentially looking to get into the sweepstakes for two-time reigning MVP Stephen Curry next summer should probably focus elsewhere.

As expected, Curry doesn’t sound like a man that’s ready to bolt from the Bay Area after two historically successful seasons.

To the contrary. The guard is making it known he wants to re-sign with the Warriors when free agency opens up next summer.

“I want to be back here,” Curry said, via ESPN. “I like playing here, and that’s it.”

This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to anyone. Golden State’s brand of basketball is among the most entertaining we have seen in the NBA in a long time. In this, the players always look like they’re having fun.

a 140-24 record over the past two regular season surely has played a role in this as well.

On top of this, Golden State added former MVP Kevin Durant in free agency back in July. That’s only going to add to the allure for Curry when he makes his decision next summer.

With one of the top organizations in basketball, and in the process of potentially moving to a waterfront arena in San Francisco, the Warriors are a prime destination for the game’s top stars.

That will now likely include a long-term deal with their star guard within the next year.
