As suspected, San Diego Chargers running back Danny Woodhead tore his ACL in Sunday’s blowout win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.
#Chargers RB Danny Woodhead has torn his ACL, source said. His MRI just came back. He's out for the season. Bad blow.

This is terrible news obviously for both Woodhead and the Chargers. And it’s now the second week in a row that a major piece of San Diego’s offense has been lost for the season, as Keenan Allen tore his ACL in Week 1.
Woodhead is one of the NFL’s best pass-catching running backs, and he was the leading pass catcher for the Chargers last year.
This injury puts the onus on second-year running back Melvin Gordon to continue playing well. Following a disappointing rookie campaign, he’s now leading the league with three rushing touchdowns and has 159 yards on 38 carries.
San Diego’s offense will always move the sticks and score as long as Philip Rivers is playing, but the injury bug has not been kind to the Chargers thus far.
