Report: Arian Foster unlikely to play this week

It did not take long for running back Arian Foster to sustain another injury that could linger beyond one week.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is reporting that Foster is a “long shot” to suit up in Week 3 against the Cleveland Browns. Foster is reportedly dealing with another groin injury and not practicing.

However, there is a chance he could play in Week 4 according to Rapoport. Meanwhile, expect to see Jay Ajayi start this week.

This loss of Foster is big considering he earned the starting job over Ajayi, who did not exactly impress during the preseason. And after being a healthy inactive in Week 1, the second-year running back put up 14 yards on five attempts in Foster’s stead last Sunday.

Clearly, Miami’s ground game could suffer long-term if Foster is out for an extended period of time.

At 0-2, the Dolphins will look to notch their first win of the season against the Cleveland Browns this upcoming weekend.
