Chris Bosh declares himself ready for training camp

The Miami Heat might be remaining quiet on the topic of their All-Star big man returning to the court.

Though, Chris Bosh himself continues to speak publicly about his return from yet another bout with blood clots.

“Absolutely (ready for training camp). We’ve been talking about it for a long time,” Bosh said, via ESPN.com. “We released a statement in May that as soon as I’m ready to play, as soon as possible, I’ll play. I’m ready. I’ve done all my work working with the doctors. I’m in incredible shape. I look good when I take my shirt off.”

Bosh has been sidelined since the latest recurrence of blood clit issues back in early February. That came on the heels of him missing 38 games during the 2014-15 season when clots traveled to his lungs.

While Bosh did indicate that Miami’s brass has privately been supportive of him attending training camp later this month, the organization has been quiet on the topic publicly.

It was reported late last month that Bosh was upset over the Heat’s handling of his health. That report focused on the possibility of Miami attempting to keep Bosh off the court as a way to avoid his salary taking up room on the cap (more on that here).

If Bosh should prove himself to be healthy, the Heat would have no other choice but to play him. At this point, it seems to be heading in that direction.
