Terrell Davis compares HOF to glazed doughnuts

Former Denver Broncos running back Terrell Davis wants to get into the Pro Football Hall of Fame so bad he can taste it.

Speaking to Nicki Jhabvala of The Denver Post, Davis compared his desire to get into the Hall to being on the other side of a glass case stocked with tasty glazed doughnuts.

Between his rookie year, 1995 and 1998, Davis rushed for 6,413 yards and 56 touchdowns. He also helped the Broncos win two Super Bowls in a row and was absolutely unstoppable during the 1997 and 1998 playoff runs, which allowed John Elway to finish his career on top.

While he’d argue this point, Davis might not get into the Hall of Fame, no matter how sweet the proposition is to him.

Though he did put together one of the most dominant four-year stretches in NFL history, Davis’ overall body of work might not be considered grand enough to put him in the same company of running backs who have made it in.

He was snubbed this past season of voting, along with former Broncos safeties John Lynch and Steve Atwater.

Still, nobody can blame him for salivating at the potential to cap off his career with a spot on hallowed ground.
