Get ready to double-take, as number one seed Novak Djokovic has been knocked out of the Olympic tennis competition in the first round. We can’t believe it either.

What’s just as surprising is that Djokovic lost to 145th seed Juan Martin Del Potro in two straight sets, 7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (7-2). That’s right, the same Del Potro who beat Djokovic in London 2012 to claim bronze.

Djokovic said to BBC “This is one of the toughest losses in my career, but you have to deal with it. It’s not the first or the last time that I have lost a tennis match. But the Olympic Games, yeah, it’s completely different.”

Djokovic isn’t the only surprise so far either.

The Williams sisters are out of the doubles. The three-time Olympic gold medalists were convincingly beaten by Czech Republic’s Lucie Safarova and Barbora Strycova, 6-3 6-4.

Additionally, the Great British Murray brothers were knocked out by Brazilian pair Thomaz Bellucci and Andre Sa in a much tighter game, 7-6 (8-6) 7-6 (16-14).
