Warriors assistant coach speaks out against Donald Trump at DNC

Golden State Warriors assistant coach Jarron Collins spoke at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia on Monday.

A supporter of Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, Collins spoke out against Republican nominee Donald Trump during his speech.

“I’m Jarron Collins. And alongside my kind and brilliant wife, Elsa, we have three children that are raised here in America. I want my kids to know that anything is possible here. I want them to know that any more than any star athlete, the president of the United States is a role model to millions of children, Collins said.” So when it comes to Donald Trump, how do you tell your kids not to be a bully if their president is one?”

Jarron is the twin brother of former NBA player, Jason Collins, who became the first openly gay player in the history of the Association.

His statement in regards to Trump couldn’t be any more clear. Collins spoke about the perceived bullying mentality that some conclude helped the GOP nominee surprise the Republican field during the primary.

Collins played 10 years in the NBA, last suiting up for the Portland Trail Blazers back in 2010-11. He’s been a member of Steve Kerr’s coaching staff in Oakland the past two seasons.
