Von Miller, Broncos to resume contract talks Monday

Von MIller COVID-19

Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller is not necessarily a happy man these days. He doesn’t want to play under the franchise tag this upcoming season, and has made no attempts to remain quiet on the topic.

Miller, the reigning Super Bowl MVP, is set to earn $14.26 million in 2016 under the franchise tag should he sign it before Friday’s deadline.

Coincidentally, that’s also the deadline for Miller and the Broncos to come to an agreement on a long-term deal.

With the two sides being far apart on guaranteed money, the expectation is that they will resume negotiations on Monday (via Mike Klis of 9News in Denver).

And while talks have progressed to an extent, it’s going to be a heated negotiation period from here on out.

With both sides facing a firm deadline, the onus is likely going to be on the Broncos to up their offer of $114.5 million with three of the six years fully guaranteed.
