Report: Nuggets think they have 50-50 shot at Dwyane Wade

After meeting with Dwyane Wade for two-and-a-half hours on Wednesday, the Denver Nuggets reportedly feel they have a 50-50 chance to land the shooting guard.

To be sure, landing Wade would be a coup for Denver. He’d be an instant upgrade over Garry Harris and would be an excellent role model for young point guard Emmanuel Mudiay and the rest of the youngsters on the roster.

Wade also met with the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday and was supposed to have a meeting with the Chicago Bulls. However, due to flight delays, that meeting was cancelled. The Bulls have reportedly said they’d fly to Wade on Thursday if he’s serious about potentially joining the franchise.

The other team in the mix still, despite some rough waters to navigate, is of course the Miami Heat. Wade has concluded his meeting with team owner Mickey Arison, per Zach Lowe of ESPN, but no resolution has been reported.

Before Wade and Arison met, Stefano Fusaro of NBC 6 in Miami reported the Heat could be offering Wade a deal that appears to mirror the one Denver is reportedly offering.

In all likelihood, the two teams with the best shot at landing Wade right now are the Nuggets and Heat. While Wade has a frosty relationship with Miami, due to contract disputes, he may still be leaning towards staying where his career started as a rookie out of Marquette in 2003.

Perhaps this is why Denver isn’t feeling as strong as perhaps it would like about its chances of securing Wade’s services the next couple of seasons.
