Le’Veon Bell says he would ‘never’ leave Steelers

Le'Veon Bell

Despite the hubbub surrounding Le’Veon Bell these days, the Pittsburgh Steelers running back is staunchly against leaving his current NFL home.

At least, that’s what he told a fan, who asked if Bell was going to leave.

Bell caused waves in NFL circles when he included a line in a rap song he wrote that suggested he is going to demand $15 million per year.

“I’m at the top and if not I’m the closest, I’ma need 15 a year and they know this.”

Bell has an interesting response to that assumption, as well

Here is the full version for anyone interested in hearing the song “Focus” in its entirety, though be warned of the Parental Advisory.

It wasn’t long ago, just a few weeks, in fact, that Bell was telling members of the media that his health was more important than contract negotiations at this point in time. Currently recovering from an MCL tear that cost him 10 games last season, he needs to prove he’s back to 100 percent before having any leverage in contract negotiations, anyway.

When healthy, Bell is one of the NFL’s most electric running backs. He is a true three-down back in that he is just as effective catching and blocking as he is at running the ball. His sophomore campaign was proof of his value, as Bell totaled 2,215 yards and 11 touchdowns.

If the young man puts together another campaign like that, he’ll be in fine shape to land a big, long-term deal. Though it should be noted that $15 million per year is likely out of the question, given the current value of NFL running backs.
