Ticket prices dropping ’30 percent of more’ for Game 3 of NBA Finals

After the Cleveland Cavaliers lost Game 2 of the NBA Finals, falling into an 0-2 hole, ticket prices for Game 3 took huge hit.

Darren Rovell of ESPN noted Monday morning that ticket prices have dropped “by 30 percent or more.”

This is a far cry from what we saw in Oakland the past few games. Cavaliers players were less than pleased at the $1,300 price tag the Golden State Warriors were charging for their friends and families. And those were being offered at a discounted rate.

Supply and demand is a real thing. Right now, the demand to enter Quicken Loans Arena to watch the Cavs attempt to pull out of their 0-2 hole isn’t nearly as appealing as it was for Warriors fans to enter Oracle Arena during the first two games. Not to mention the fact that the Bay Area in California is more affluent than Cleveland and the areas surrounding in Ohio.

It’s going to be interesting to see if the ticket prices come back up, should the Cavs pull out a win in Game 3. The action commences on Wednesday, June 8, starting at 9 p.m. ET.
