Report: NFL ‘actively’ looking into Aqib Talib shooting

The circumstances surrounding Aqib Talib being shot in the leg are shady (at best) right now. Therefore it’s not surprising to hear that the NFL is taking an active approach to investigating just what went on that night.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter provided this information on Tuesday about the league’s investigation:

“NFL ‘actively’ looking into circumstances surrounding Aqib Talib being shot this weekend, per an NFL official. The Broncos immediately notified the NFL about the shooting after they found out about it, and now the NFL is exploring the determining facts behind the incident, the official said.”

There has been rampant speculation that the Denver Broncos cornerback may have accidentally shot himself, and there is a report in which he admits as much.

Regardless of how the shooting happened, Talib might be in big trouble with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

“One league source said NFL commissioner Roger Goodell doesn’t like guns, he doesn’t like guns in the hands of intoxicated players, and he especially doesn’t like guns in the hands of intoxicated players who have a history with guns like Talib has.”

One former NFL player who can certainly relate to Talib is Plaxico Burress, who actually received a two-year prison sentence after he shot himself.

No matter how you slice it, it sure looks like Talib is going to face a suspension by the NFL, and depending on what the police determine, he might be facing legal ramifications as well.
