Johnny Manziel’s lawyer, Bob Hinton, will no longer represent him in the wake of his text faux pas in which he outed his client as an alcoholic and drug addict who couldn’t stay sober.
Hinton had unintentionally texted the Associated Press insinuating his legal team would be seeking a plea deal and writing, “Heaven help us if one of the conditions is to pee in a bottle,” per the AP report.
Not surprisingly, lead attorney Jim Darnell confirmed to Denise C Michaels, a branding and marketing specialist, that Hinton is no longer on the team to defend Manziel.

What Hinton did was unquestionably detrimental to Manziel, and it shouldn’t be shocking if legal action is taken against him at some point.
That said, based on Manziel’s own actions since last year when he started down his current spiral, Hinton was stating the obvious. Manziel cannot seem to stay away from booze, with his own father coming out after the lawyer’s mishap to say his son would be better off in jail and that he’s a druggie.
Previously, Paul Manziel worried that his son would not live to see his 24th birthday on his current course, and nothing has changed since that statement.
Manziel is being charged with misdemeanor assault on his ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley. If he is found guilty, he could face up to a year in jail.
