Antonio Brown doesn’t need money, strives to be Pokémon character

As NFL training camps near, Antonio Brown and the Pittsburgh Steelers remain locked in an uncertain contract situation.

But Steelers’ fans can rest easy. In an interview on ESPN’s NFL Live, the superstar receiver made it clear that he’s not exactly sweating it right now.

“Well, right now I’m at the facility and all I’m just focused on is playing football and being around the guys,” Brown said, via Dave Bryan of Steelers Depot. “The game has been great to me, the Steelers have been great to me and I think things will work out and take its toll. But I’m just singularly focused on being a great player, being here around the guys and my teammates, and representing my family. I think money’s not a need for me right now and I think things will work out as the time continues to unfold.”

If you’re a Pittsburgh fan or prospective fantasy owner of A.B., that’s certainly good to know. In reality, he’s been the best receiver in the game for the last few seasons. If he’s focused on football, there’s no reason to think that he won’t be back in that spot again in 2016.

But what are Brown’s goals? Does he know how many passes he wants to catch or how many yards he wants to go for? Not exactly.

“I don’t have a number, I just want to catch them all,” said Brown, in the same interview. “That’s always my goal is to maximize every opportunity and every throw that’s coming my way. To be consistent, be a guy Ben (Roethlisberger) can trust, be a guy the team can rely on and just like the Ash Ketchum from the Pokémon, I just want to catch them all.”

Indeed, Ash Ketchum lived life by the motto of, “Gotta Catch ‘Em All.” Anyone who’s watched Antonio Brown over the last few seasons should know that betting against him doing just that would be ill advised.
