Johnny Manziel’s former manager offers his help

In a recent interview with GQ Magazine, Maverick Carter, who used to manage NFL free agent Johnny Manziel, had some interesting things to say regarding the troubled quarterback.

When asked if there were any regrets working with the former Cleveland Browns quarterback, Carter shared some intriguing remarks:

“No, I don’t regret it. I met Johnny and liked him. He obviously was who he was coming out, which is gigantic. I feel like we did a great job with Johnny and helped him a lot. But he was his biggest opponent,” Carter said, via GQ Magazine. “He’s a very intelligent guy—he’s just his biggest opponent. Still is. But to this day, if he called me, I’d go help him in a second. So that’s another reason why I can’t regret it: I made relationships with him and his family that’ll probably last a lifetime.”

If only Manziel would reach out to Carter, he would have someone of quite high regard in his circle that admittedly believes in him.

Carter is also the business partner of Manziel’s buddy, Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James, who has also in the past offered his support to Manziel and has referred to him as “part of the family.”

While juggling lucrative business ventures, it is nice that Carter would take his precious time to offer his help to Manziel, who is in complete denial right now.

Manziel’s stint with the Cleveland Browns eventually blew up in smoke when the team recently released him to end the embarrassment he caused the organization for two long years.

Between the constant partying, clubbing and vacationing, Manziel appears oblivious to the fact that he could be facing some jail time in the near future. If found guilty on charges of misdemeanor domestic violence, Manziel could serve up to one year in prison.

If that ends up being the case, we would wonder if Carter’s offer to give old Johnny boy a hand would still be on the table.
