DeMarco Murray: Marcus Mariota works harder than any QB he’s seen

Happy to be with a new team this fall, Tennessee Titans running back DeMarco Murray had nothing high praise to share about quarterback Marcus Mariota, speaking with Jim Wyatt of the team’s official website.

“He is a great, great quarterback obviously. But he is also a great person. And a guy like that, you definitely want to be playing with and give your all. I think he respects everyone, and everyone respects him. He works extremely hard. I have never been around a quarterback who works like he works.”

Remember, Murray played with a guy named Tony Romo during his tenure with the Dallas Cowboys.

Mariota had a promising rookie year, despite the Titans’ 3-9 record in the AFC South when he started. He completed a healthy 62.2 percent of his passes, and that should only improve with the presence of Murray to take the pressure off of him in the pocket.

Murray proved to be more than capable of doing just that when he rushed for a record-setting 1,845 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns with the Cowboys in 2014. He tacked on 416 receiving yards that season as well. This makes Murray the versatile ground threat the Titans have been missing on their offense for years.

Additions at receiver and offensive line should also aid in Mariota’s productivity in his sophomore year. The Titans have already been practicing together since April 18, according to the report, with the rookies recently joining. So far, all seems quite harmonious.

Tennessee will definitely be a team to watch this season with all signs indicating it is on an upward trend.
