Charlotte Hornets guard Kemba Walker had a breakout 2015-16 season for the team, eventually leading Charlotte to 48 wins and a surprise spot in the playoffs.

All said, the former top-10 pick put up career highs in points per game (20.9) and three-point percentage (.371) en route to becoming a borderline All-Star performer.

While the Hornets’ season ended in a whimper with a first-round playoff loss to the Miami Heat, it was a largely successful campaign for the squad.

As it relates to Walker, he was playing through some pain in the postseason — pain that led to the guard undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee:

This won’t impact Walker’s ability to take part in training camp or the start of the 2016-17 season. Though, any idea of him representing the United States in the Summer Olympics can be thrown out the window.

Barring a setback, Walker should be good to go by the time the Hornets report to camp in late September.
