Trent Richardson looks shredded after losing 22 pounds

Trent Richardson has one more shot to shed his “bust” label after weight issues derailed his once-promising NFL career. The former No. 3 overall pick of the Cleveland Browns was thought to be finished after failing to make it out of training camp with the Oakland Raiders last year.

However, the Baltimore Ravens recently signed Richardson after he convinced them he was serious about getting into shape for the job this year, and now we see why.

Check out the before and after pictures, provided by Richardson’s trainer and former Alabama teammate Mike McCoy on Instagram:

“For all the people who counted this man out!!! Trust me when I tell you he is war ready, he is in the best shape of his life and a mindset of a King focused on the next territory to conquer!

“He will shock the NFL this year… Go shine like the star you are my guy!!!”

Clearly, Richardson has put in some serious work to shed his extra weight. After losing 22 pounds recently, he’s down to 218 pounds, which fits his 5-foot-9 frame beautifully.

Whether or not this translates to on-field success with the Ravens this year remains to be seen. Aside from weight issues, Richardson also displayed a stunning lack of vision during his first years in the league.

However, given his nose for the end zone, perhaps he will find a nice role in Baltimore as a short-yardage and goal-line specialist.
