Texans forced to cancel offseason opener due to flooding

Houston Chronicle

The Houston Texans were forced to cancel the first day of offseason conditioning workouts due to widespread flooding in the area, Tania Ganguli of ESPN reports.

This isn’t the first time this has happened in recent memory, either, as the Texans were hit with similar conditions last year during OTAs.

Conditions in the greater Houston area are quite scary at the moment, per Weather.com:

“A widespread disaster unfolded early Monday morning in the Houston area as torrential, prolonged rainfall came down at rates as high as four inches an hour, flooding waterways at rapid rates and leaving residents trapped in their own homes.”

This situation could potentially get worse, too, as Houston is expected to get hit with thunderstorms through Thursday this week.

The Texans won’t be adversely affected by this situation, but the residents being trapped in their homes and potentially stranded in dangerous situations could use our thoughts and prayers.
