Cam Newton jumps fence at schoolyard to play football with students

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton made the day of a bunch of seventh-grade students at Community School of Davidson in North Carolina.

According to a report by Anna Starnes of wsoctv.com, Newton was driving by the school and saw one of the kids on the playground wearing his No. 1 football jersey.

This is when Newton decided to stop the car and jump the fence at the school to play football with the students.

Per Starnes, Newton was filming for a show, so he was literally caught on camera when he catapulted over the fence to join the kids. Of course, this was after he asked permission to enter the school grounds.

Mimi Siadak, one of the teachers at the school, said Newton’s visit brought one girl to tears:

“I saw one girl crying and hyperventilating and when I asked, ‘Sweetheart what’s wrong?’ she said, ‘That was just the best moment of my life.”

After tossing the football around, Newton apparently took extra time to pose for photos with some of the kids.

We can only imagine what was going on in the students’ minds when the 6-foot-6 quarterback suddenly appeared on the schoolyard.

To show their appreciation for Newton taking the time to visit, the students reportedly wrote him thank you letters. One of the notes written by a student read:

“I am in a hard place in my life, because my parents are getting divorced. But to me you are now a symbol of hope and that even when things go bad there is always happiness.”

What cool stories the kids must have had to share with their families and friends when they got home from school that day.
